![]() Hebrew SUBTITLING FORMATS
Selecting the right subtitling format for Hebrew content distribution is essential and depends on your service provider or broadcaster requirements. Occasionally there might be a requirement for multiple formats encoding to ensure a proper Hebrew subtitling feed display across different platforms, devices and channels. We employ professional subtitling software and video editing packages and utilize the best subtitling technology to ensure that our Hebrew subtitles are both word and time accurate.
Graffiti Studios support a broad range of subtitle formats that allow our customers to specify resolutions, bit rates and video outputs for Hebrew subtitle burning. Whatever the file format that our clients require, we are readily available to provide it, regardless whether it is a basic file format like, .srt, .sbv / .sub or .scc, .xif for television broadcast or any of the more advanced subtitle formats like .smi and .ttml. Hebrew subtitling specificationsWhile working on Hebrew subtitling we are considering certain requirements towards the subtitles’ technical parameters. These include limitations like: no more than two lines per subtitle; maximum total length of the subtitle in characters (most often 37); minimum and maximum duration of the subtitle (the duration for which the Hebrew subtitle is being shown on screen), frame gap, glyph list, line treatment, positional data, timing-to-audio, timing to shot changes, dialogue that crosses shot changes and many more. Extensive name conventions and glossaries are developed to ensure subtitling consistency. Other considerations for Hebrew subtitling are the ratio between original and translated Hebrew text and the alphabet Hebrew language specific characters. Altogether, these limitations represent a hurdle which makes recreating the original content into Hebrew accurately enough on the one hand, and making the Hebrew subtitles compliant with the technical requirements stated above, quite a challenge.
